Excipients

Excipients or inactive ingredients are substances used in supplements or medications alongside the active ingredients. Excipients can be classified as bulking agents (to fill up the capsule if there is only a small amount of active ingredient), preservatives (to maintain product freshness), flow agents (to prevent the active ingredients from sticking together), colors, flavors, sweeteners, or carriers (to carry and disperse the active ingredient).

At Trutyna, we do not use bulking agents, preservatives, colors, artificial flavors, or sweeteners in our products. We only use what is necessary to ensure the highest standards of quality and purity. The following excipients are used in our supplements:

Rice Flour: Rice flour is a hypoallergenic, gluten-free, natural complex carbohydrate that is used as a carrier in supplements to help disperse the active ingredients evenly.

Magnesium stearate: Magnesium stearate is a flow agent that is used to help prevent ingredients from clumping during manufacturing. This helps guarantee the quality and consistency of the product. Magnesium consists of two substances: the mineral magnesium and a fat called stearic acid (derived from vegetable oil). Stearic acid can be found in many foods, including walnuts, salmon, eggs, chicken, cheese, and chocolate. Magnesium stearate is nontoxic and safe for human consumption.

Hypromellose: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) or hypromellose capsules are also called veggie caps. These are derived from natural plant sources, whereas gelatin capsules are made from cow or pig byproducts. Hypromellose capsules are vegetarian- and vegan-free.
